Which achievement is your proudest? Why?

본인의 성취한 가장 자랑스러웠던 업적에 대해서 말씀해 주세요

I would like to talk about my two proudest achievements. The first is, I am very proud that I came to Korea and made a new life here. When I arrived in Korea, I didn’t know anything about Korean culture or language. I had to learn so many things and overcome so many difficulties because I wasn’t familiar with Korea in any way. The second is, I spent a few months travelling through Africa and South America, climbing high mountains. I had to endure very high altitude, sometimes over 6,000m. It was exhausting to climb those mountains, but I was so happy to reach the summits. When I think about these achievements, I realise I don’t need money or possessions to feel proud. I just need special experiences and memories.

두가지 가장 자랑스러운 업적에 대해서 말씀드리고 싶어요. 첫번째는 한국에 와서 새로운 삶을 시작한 것 입니다. 한국에 도착했을 때는 한국의 문화나 언어에 대해서 어떤것도 알지 못하였어요. 어떠한 방면에서도 한국과는 전혀 친숙하지 않았기 때문에 많은 것들을 배웠어야 했고 많은 고난을 극복해야 했어요. 두번째는 아프리카와 남아메리카를 몇달간 여행하면서 높은 산을 등산했어요. 가끔은 6,000m이상의 높은 고도를 참아내야 했죠. 이렇게 높은 산을 등산하는것은 극도로 힘든 일이었으나 정상에 도착했을 땐 정말 행복했어요. 이러한 업적들을 생각하면 자랑스럽게 느끼기 위한 돈이나 소유물이 필요없다는것을 깨달아요. 전 단지 특별한 경험이나 기억들이 필요할 뿐이죠.
