Do you have any superstitions? What are they?
미신을 믿으세요? 어떤 미신을 믿으세요?
I don’t have any superstitions, in fact I am such a logical person, perhaps even cynical about anything which I don’t consider scientific. However, I remember my grandfather was very superstitious. He believed that if you break a mirror, you will have seven years of bad luck. One day, he broke a mirror in his room and he was so worried. He was certain that he would have bad things happen to him for the next seven years. Of course, nothing bad happened to him, and he realised that it was just a superstition. Personally I don’t like when people are superstitious because I think it affects their lives and makes them worry for nothing. However, maybe some superstitions are intended to help people avoid making mistakes, so maybe they are useful sometimes.
전 미신을 믿지 않아요, 사실 전 굉장히 논리적인 사람이라, 아마도 과학적이라고 고려하지 않는 것에는 심지어는 냉소적인 사람이기도 해요. 그러나 저희 할아버지가 굉장히 미신을 잘 믿으셨어요. 할아버지는 거울을 깨면 7년간 운이 좋지 않을거라고 믿으셨거든요. 하루는 할아버지 방에 있는 거울을 깨셨고 굉장히 걱정하셨어요. 돌아오는 7년동안 안좋은 일이 발생할 것 이라고 확신하셨어요. 물론 아무일도 일어나지는 않았고 할아버지는 단지 미신에 불과하다는 걸 깨달으셨죠. 개인적으로는 사람들이 미신을 믿는것을 좋아하지 않아요. 이것이 사람들의 삶에 영향을 끼치고 아무것도 아닌거에 걱정하게 만들기 때문인데요. 그러나 아마도 어떤 미신들은 사람들이 실수를 피하도록 도움을 주는 경향이 있다고 생각해요, 그래서 때로는 이런것들이 유용 할 수도 있다고 생각해요.
