만약에 가지고 있지 않으시면, 어떤 종류의 정원을 원하세요?
I don’t have a garden as I live in an apartment. However, there are two different styles of garden I would like to have. One is an English-style country garden. This kind of garden has a lawn (grassy area) where you can sit or play outdoor games, a lot of shady areas like apple trees, and a table and chairs where you can enjoy tea and some cake. It is a very nice thought to imagine being there. The other type of garden I would like to have is a Japanese-style garden. Traditional gardens in Japan have a lot of special features, such as bridges and rocks which represent mountains. They also have beautiful water features such as ponds or fountains. I always find them very relaxing. I would love to build a garden which contains characteristics of both styles.
아파트에 살고 있기 때문에 정원이 없어요. 그러나 제가 원하는 두가지 종류의 정원이 있는데요. 하나는 전통적인 영국스타일의 정원이에요. 이런 종류의 정원은 잔디가 있고, 그곳에(잔디에) 앉거나 야외활동 게임을 할 수 있어요. 사과나무와 같은 그늘진 구역이 많고, 테이블과 의자들이 있어서 거기서 차와 케이크를 즐길 수 있어요. 그곳에 있는 것을 상상하는 것 만으로도 굉장히 좋아요. 다른 종류의 정원은 일본식 스타일의 정원을 가지고 싶어요. 일본의 정통적인 정원은 특별한 특색이 있는데요. 산을 대표하는 다리와 바위들, 그리고 아름다운 물은 연못이나 분수를 특색으로 해요. 그런것들은 저에게 항상 편안함을 주는것 같아요. 저는 두가지 스타일의 특징을 포함하는 정원을 짓고 싶어요.

영어에서 정해진 숫자(본문에서는 두개를 사용)에 대해서 설명할 때 한국인들이 자주 실수하는 부분인데요. 본문에서는 (정원)두개를 말하였기 때문에 첫번째 하나는 one이라고 말했고, 둘중에 하나가 남았기에, 나머지 하나 남은것은 the other로 표현한것이 보이시죠? 이때, 일기적으시는 많은 분이 “another” 라고 표현하는 실수를 해요. 나머지 하나는 영어로 the other 라고 표현하시면 됩니다.
참고: another은 3개이상 일 때 사용하면 됩니다, 예를들어서 one(하나), another(또다른하나), the other(나머지 하나)이렇게 사용하면 돼요.
