What do you think about marriage?

결혼에 대해서 어떻게 생각하나요?

When I was younger I believed marriage was necessary, because that is what I was told. But talking to people from many different countries has changed my mind. So I don’t think marriage is necessary, I think it is a choice. If two people are ready to consider the other person’s needs, maybe it is time to have a family. But I know many couples don’t understand this and they just get married without thinking through the consequences. Anyway I think marriage doesn’t have a right or wrong answer.

좀 더 어렸을 때는 결혼이 필수적이라고 생각했어요, 왜냐하면 그렇게 주입되었기 때문이죠. 그러나 여러나라에서 온 사람들과 대화하면서 생각이 바뀌었어요. 그래서 결혼은 필수라고 생각하지 않아요. 선택이라고 믿어요. 만약에 두사람이 서로의 요구를 맞춰줄 준비가 돼 있다면 가정을 꾸릴 시간이 온거라고 생각해요. 그러나 많은 커플이 이것을 이해하지 않고 결혼에 따른 결과에 대해서 생각없이 결혼하죠. 어쨌든 제 생각에는 결혼선택은 옳고 그른 답이 없다고 생각해요.
