There is some food for a memorial service for Lunar New Year’s Day. In the first row there are some fruits like pears, apples and strawberries, on the left. In the second row there are some fish and clams. I guess the picture was taken in the middle of the memorial service for Lunar New Year’s Day. Preparing food for memorial services is a part of  Korean culture. The food looks very familiar to me, but there is something I haven’t seen before in a memorial service, which is the clams. My family don’t use clams for memorial services, I guess it is because traditions differ from region to region.

설날 차례상이 차려져 있네요. 첫번째 줄 왼쪽에서 부터 배, 사과, 딸기 같은 과일들이 있어요. 두번째 줄에는 고기와 조개가 있네요. 설날 차례를 지내는 도중에 사진을 찍은거 같아요. 차례상을 준비하는것은 한국의 문화중에 일부분이에요. 차례음식이 저에게는 굉장히 낯익지만 음식중에서 차례상에서 조개는 본 적이 없어요. 우리 가족들은 차례상에 조개를 사용하지 않지만 지역마다 전통이 다르기 때문이겠죠.
