My first overseas trip
I haven’t traveled to any other countries, which means I haven’t flown. So, during winter vacation I am going to travel. My friends and I have prepared every detail of our trip to travel to Prague.
I didn’t want my friends to know that I’ve never been in a plane. So I lied and said that I have travelled to many countries.
“Mimi, we are all relying on you, because you have travelled to many places, we definitely need your help.” one of my friends said.
I felt under pressure so I bought books about travel to learn all about it.
Today we are leaving!
In the airport, we are queuing to check in. I am getting more nervous, as our turn is coming. Everything will be okay, if I do exactly as the books say.
It is our turn. My friends are behind me and now I am talking to a check-in assistant.
“Hello, where are you flying to?” The receptionist asked.
“I am traveling to the country named Prague” I answered.
“Prague is in the Czech Republic” She smiled and said.
I honestly didn’t know Prague is a city. I thought it is a country.
My friends laughed and asked Have you been to Africa?
Yes! I have.. !
“Which country have you been to?”
“Africa!”
“Haha, Africa is not a country name, it is a continent, just like Asia!”
Oh no, they will never stop making fun of me during this trip!

“Hello, where are you flying to?” The receptionist asked.안녕하세요, 어디로 가시나요? 접수원이 물었다.
“I am traveling to the country named Prague” I answered. 프라하라는 나라로 여행가요. 내가 대답했다.
“Prague is in the Czech Republic” She smiled and said. 프라하는 체코라는 나라에 속해요. 그녀가 미소지으며 말했다.
I honestly didn’t know Prague is a city. I thought it is a country. 난 솔직히 프라하가 도시인지 몰랐다. 나라이름이라고 생각했다.
My friends laughed and asked Have you been to Africa? 친구들이 웃었고 나에게 아프리카 가본적 있냐고 물었다.
“Yes! I have.. !”그래, 있어!
“Which country have you been to?” 어디 나라 가봤어?
“Africa!” 아프리카 갔다니까!
“Haha, Africa is not a country name, it is a continent, just like Asia!” 푸하하, 아프리카는 나라 이름이 아니야, 대륙 이름이야. 아시아처럼!
Oh no, they will never stop making fun of me during this trip! 안돼.. 이것들이 이번여행동안 날 실컫 놀릴텐데..
